Fishbourne to Bosham Ramble, 13 January 2018

The popularity of CYC rambles showed no sign of abating with the first walk of 2018 attracting 56 people to walk and 52 for lunch.

The party assembled in the Woolpack Inn, Fishbourne car park on a very overcast but dry morning and set off down Mill Lane, round the fishpond and cut through the reed beds to Fishbourne Meadows.

The first part of the walk along the water’s edge gave fabulous views down the harbour to Dell Quay before cutting inland across farmland towards Bosham.

The coffee stop on the edge of the harbour took in the view across to Bosham village and church and allowed time for a bit of bird spotting, warming up for the following days lecture.

The route back was again across farmland to join the main road through Fishbourne back to the pub.

A set lunch of large quantities of soup, sandwiches and chips was appreciated by all.

Thank you to David and Amanda Pearce for initiating the wearing of high viz jackets for the back markers. The leader on this occasion did not follow suit!! Thank you also to all the participants for an enjoyable, if very muddy in places, walk.
