Cruise to Yarmouth

We had several drop outs and some welcomed ‘drop ins’.

Since Thorney Flame and Teise arrived earlier the four of us got the bus and walked up to the Needles in outstanding visibility.

Richard Frisk in Juno asked to join but only made it to Cowes.

Sandy in Harold Hayles was very accommodating and she was happy to collect fees after the event as she closes at 1230 on Saturday.

We had the usual Pontoon Drinks and ended up in the Wheatsheaf for what was a very noisy evening contributed by an adjacent table of raucous young ladies but I also have to say that some of our own party competed quite well.

On Sunday morning Kerry Dancer and Scirocco departed but Trevor, Rose, David, Janet and myself and my Janet made it to Ventnor and four of us walked to Steephill Cove for wonderful crab sandwiches at The Beach Shack.

Early Monday morning Thorney Flame, Oar-To-Sail and Teise departed for a lovely bright sail back to Chichester in a northerly four to five.

Attendees:

  • Thorney Flame
  • Scirocco
  • Teise
  • Jerry Quinton and Melanie in Kerry Dancer
  • Trevor Ferris and Rose in Oar-To-Sail
  • John and Jane in First Light
