Yacht Cruise: CYC Round the Island Race/Cruise

The CYC Round the Island Race and Cruise is a very civilised affair, with berthing overnight at Lymington, on the Dan Bran Pontoon. HW Chi is 12:08, so we will have an 11:00 start at Chi, so as to make best use of the westward tide. Dinner will be provisionally booked at the Mayflower who always seems to cope well with our considerable numbers. Any boat that would like to take part in the race is welcome: you do not need to be an experienced racer to take part; & cruising-only participants are very welcome. But with a total of 3 bits of CYC silverware up for grabs over this weekend, entry to the race list is recommended – you have to be in it to win it! For those taking part in the return event on Sunday, the route will be around the back of the Island: for those not taking part in the race you may either like to take advantage of the tides to take the long route around the back, or the more direct route home through the Solent. As usual, we will hold a briefing in the club at 2100 on Friday.
