Youth Watersports Pathway (18/4/26)
The Watersports Pathway is a rolling set of drop-in sessions for our young sailors to get time on the water with the guidance and support of one of our fabulous instructors.
Running every other week, or more frequently when the tides allow, the aim is to progress through the RYA syllabus at your own rate in a variety of different conditions, crew and sailing vessels. While time on the water is our main focus, we will also be incorporating theory and practical land sessions to broaden our sailors' horizons within the sport of sailing as a whole; the next generation of sailors start here!
Each session our instructors will look at self-evaluations from our sailors and refer to instructor notes on individual strengths, weaknesses, skills and techniques to ensure everyone is getting the most out of each session. Everyone should get a personal development plan and look forward to regular awards nights throughout the year.
With increased opportunity to sail and be on the water, the chance to learn from each other and make friends whilst doing so we hope to make sailing into a favourite hobby, that goes further than simply doing one course a year.
We ask that participants have an RYA junior Stage 1 qualification or equivalent experience to join onto these sessions.
