RC Cruise "Boots and Boats" Cruise
Tuesday 22nd Sept
HW Chi 0920, LW Yarmouth 1520 (neeps).
We plan to catch the outgoing tide from Chi to arrive at Yarmouth before low tide; Meet for drinks in The Royal Solent Yacht Club at 6pm followed by own dining arrangements.
Wednesday 23rd September
Hike along valley to Freshwater with possibility of lunch at the Red Lion. Pontoon party at 6pm followed by team meal at the Wheatsheaf. Cruise participants will be emailed about this.
Thursday 24th September
HW Yarmouth 1040, Southampton HW 1130, LW 1620.
Sail to Southampton Town Quay. There is plenty of time to make this short passage. The alternative to bashing the tide is an early start from Yarmouth. On arrival, Pontoon Party at 6pm on STQ.
Friday 25th September
Boat Show all day followed by BBQ in the barbecue area set up for us in STQ at 6.30pm. Bring own BBQ food and drink. Alternatively whatever own arrangements you wish. Please let me know if you are coming to the BBQ. NB STQ boat show rates are £5.70 per metre per night.
Saturday 26th September
HW Southampton 1140, Portsmouth 1205, LW Portsmouth 1725.
Southampton to Premier Gosport Marina, probably setting off quite early to allow visit to Submarine museum or other attractions. No restaurant has been booked as the options are plentiful. The Castle is a pleasant eatery near the marina and there is a very good curry restaurant within walking distance. Alternatively there are numerous restaurants across at Gunwharf Quays. Premier Marina is the closest to the Gosport Ferry but Birdham Berth holders may prefer Royal Clarence, which is free but further away to walk.
Sunday 27th September HW Chi 1200
Return home in time to get in to the marina.
