Chichester Yacht Clubs location within Chichester Harbour provides a tranquil and relaxed venue to remember or celebrate the life of a loved one, family member or friend.

The Venue and Rooms Available

We can provide a venue to host a Wake, Memorial Ceremony, Funeral Reception or a Celebration of Life to help provide a final goodbye as a family or group. These occasions can be as formal or informal as you would like, with the occasion completely personalised to you for up to 120 guests.

Both our function rooms overlook the harbour, and together with the backdrop of the South Downs National Park, provide a peaceful setting to celebrate and remember the loss of someone close to you. There is plenty of parking and disabled access to all areas of the club.

Upper Deck

The Upper Deck hosts a beautiful room overlooking the waters edge, with access to a private balcony and bar, suitable for 40-120 guests for the reception.

Quarter Deck

The Quarter Deck, situated on the ground floor, looking out onto the beautiful Harbour is the perfect location for smaller celebrations of life and funeral receptions for up to 40 guests. 

The rooms include a range of equipment suitable for displaying slide shows or videos of your loved ones such asscreens, a TV screen and PA system

Catering Options

Full in-house catering and bar facilities are available for all your food and beverage requirements. Choices include finger buffets, afternoon tea, hot buffets and drink receptions tailored to your preferences. Tea and coffee stations are available, with the bar open to serve wines, soft drinks, draught lager, ales and spirits.

We are able to cater for all dietary requirements.

Celebrant Services

Caroline James is a highly acclaimed and respected local celebrant who creates and delivers celebrations of life, farewell ceremonies and memorial services. At CYC we have worked very successfully with Caroline who shares our vision, our high standards and our attention to detail. She is a creative yet compassionate person who has a gift for working with people to achieve the best possible funeral event. Caroline can simply act as your host, greeting your guests and liaising with CYC staff to allow you to relax and enjoy the occasion. Caroline can also be your master of ceremonies, introduce guest speakers and read out poems or tributes from guests, if they would rather not.

Caroline will also meet with you beforehand and create and conduct a full farewell service, memorial or celebration of life. This can be whatever you wish it to be; it can mirror a traditional funeral service for example, or something more suited to your individual style. Caroline has officiated well over a hundred services over the past few years and can source additional services to compliment your occasion such as orders of service or floral arrangements.

Caroline will work with the team here at CYC to provide photo slideshows and music to enhance your event.
