Ramblers- Levin Down and Singleton Forest - 8th March 2025
Published 11:31 on 13 Mar 2025

The weather gods smiled upon us and the rambling group enjoyed a splendid final walk of the season. Our route featured some quite challenging uphill sections and took us through areas with stunning views from the slopes of Levin Down. Fallen trees posed little challenge and were skilfully navigated.
After Levin Down, we descended into Singleton Forest, arriving at a working oil well, complete with "nodding donkeys" and the occasional fiery outbursts. Upon leaving the forest, the group traversed more open but equally picturesque countryside. Finally, we enjoyed a well-earned lunch at the attractive pub, The Fox Goes Free in Charlton
