Eastern Venture to Littlehampton
Littlehampton cruise Tuesday 29th of July. Appropriately enough, for our eastern venture , we will have a Chinese meal at the Great Wall in Gosport. High water Portsmouth approximately 3:30 PM. This will enable those travelling from the Marchwood cruise to take an easy afternoon tide. Those joining the cruise from Chichester can select an appropriate time to cross the Chichester bar. Wednesday 30th July we take the longer sail up to Littlehampton. High water just after 4 PM which is about the best time to arrive, with a window of about an hour each side. Pontoon party that evening and most may wish to eat on board. Thursday 31st July we take a dinghy trip up the River Arun. The Black Rabbit at Arundel is a reasonable target and we can take advantage of the tides in both directions, with the turn in the early evening. There are good fish and chip shops adjacent to the Littlehampton quay. Friday 1st August sees our return to Chichester. High water is about 5:30 PM We will have a disadvantageous tide but be nearer neaps than springs and should be able to cross the bar safely and in good time.
