We look forward to welcoming you to the Motor Section Social and delighted to welcome Ella Hibbert who will be giving a talk about her extraordinary Arctic circumnavigation, sharing her story so far and what lies ahead.

Ella is halfway through an attempt to complete the worlds first single-handed circumnavigation of the Arctic Circle—once considered impossible, but now achievable due to the rapid decline of Arctic sea ice. In 2025, she became the first British woman to sail single-handed through the Northwest Passage. She will return to the Arctic in 2026 to complete the journey home from Alaska via the Northeast Passage, finishing the full circumnavigation.

Along the way, Ella has battled flooding, fire, and running aground, yet persevered and documented the entire voyage through writing and video.

This talk promises to be an inspiring evening for sailors and anyone interested in innovation and ocean protection.
